This impressive 27lb 10oz mirror has been landed by Danish Solar Tackle field tester Soren Poulsen on a somewhat different and sneaky little edge:

Soren explains: "It has been very hot lately and that has made the fishing very difficult. I got out for an overnighter, but there was no action to be had. As the sun rose the following morning I walked around the lake to see if I could spot some activity.

"I came to an area with lilly pads and shallow water where a small group of carp were already basking in the morning sun. I tried for a while to get them interested in taking a piece of bread crust off the surface, but they just weren't interested and completely ignored the hook bait and bits of freebies. So, I tried something a little different.

"I soaked the bread hook bait in Candy Floss Big Shot liquid until it sank very slowly and flicked this to the edge of the pads. As is drifted down through the water I watched as one of the carp slowly turned toward the hook bait, edged closer and then the hook bait disappeared. I lifted the rod and the carp bolted, charging off in the shallow water. It put up a great fight and eventually I was rewarded with this lovely mirror."
