I've been fishing the legendary section 7/8 of the Kempisch Canal here in Belgium for a two-night session. It has always been very busy because it holds some magnificent carp.

I have fished other sections of the canal as well, but I always end up at section 7/8. I don't know why, but I think it's because it has been, and still is, one of the most well-known sections of canal in Belgium. It is also known for its degree of difficulty, most likely down to the carp being very pressured.

Anyway back to the fishing. I had two fish, both commons, with the first weighing 39lb 14oz (18.1kg) and the second fish weighing 40lb 2oz (18.2kg). The first fish fell to a double 16mm Club Mix boilie hook bait with a single tigernut sandwiched between them and the second to a 16mm Club Mix boilie, tigernut and 10mm Club Mix pop-up.

I’ll be going back there for a four-night session soon, then three nights at work and before heading off to Rainbow Lake for a week in swim 16. I’ll let you know how I get on.
