“Particularly in early spring, or when the water temperatures remain low for longer than they perhaps should, as is the case this year, I’m sure that the majority of a carp’s feeding is done by sight. For this reason, I use a lot of quick-chamge PVA bags filled with pellets and crumbed boilies, both of which wash-out to a pale grey colour once in the water which is very visual over a dark lake bed. This is always coupled with a bright hook bait, which I tip with a different coloured, but also bright, piece of artificial corn or a Solar Everlasting hook bait.”
